I'm happy to announce that I've recently received a Mid-career Project grant from the Ontario Arts Council. Its a real honour and it's taken a long time to finally be on the receiving end of one of these grants. I'm looking forward to some exciting new work that will be produced with the help of the OAC!!!

This month's issue of ARTnews magazine, features a review of the Landscape/Cityscape exhibition that I was part of this summer at the Mira Godard Gallery in Toronto. The review was a positive one (yay!) and covered a selection of the artists showing. The author David Balzer wrote of my work: "The only true cityscape was Peter Harris' well-painted "The Urban Forest 1"(2008), a portrait of a parking lot at night, glistening after a rain under streetlights and encircled by trees. There are Canadians who portray the convergence of civilization and nature with more contemporary sophistication, but Harris, at the very least, successfully conveys the mood."  David Balzer, ARTnews magazine, pg 133, November, 2010.
